Eucharistic Ministers

St. Luke's Parish chooses from amongst its members who have received the sacraments of initiation, those who are willing to act as Eucharistic Ministers. These ministers serve our parish community each Sunday by assisting the priest in the distribution of communion to the faithful and serve by setting up for mass and by purifying the chalice and ciboriums after mass.

The Eucharistic Ministers also carry out another very old and traditional service by taking communion to those who are unable to join the parish community for the Eucharist on Sunday. Each Sunday the Sacrament of the Eucharist, celebrated in the Church is brought to the homes and hospital rooms of a number of parishioners. This is a very special work of service within the parish.
